Phase 1 of a total of three phases is being opened in new premises in the heart of Kista Science City. The first phase consists of around 11,000 sq.m. of exhibition premises including a restaurant and a conference facility. For a short period, the entrance to Kista Expo Center will be temporarily located on Vågögatan.
Phase 2, which is expected to be completed in May 2009, will include the large new entrance hall with access directly from Kistagången. The third and final phase consists of the hotel which is being built directly adjacent to Kista Expo Center.
"The Expo Center will be the natural meeting place that has been lacking to date in Kista", says Klövern's CEO Gustaf Hermelin. "Both the local business sector in Stockholm and large international companies will have a suitable venue for their annual general meetings, fairs and events, which will be extremely important for the development of Kista and the whole of northern Stockholm."
Kista Expo Center has excellent communications. The metro runs to Kista Centre and commuter trains to Helenelund station. There is also a direct exit road from the E4 highway. Flygbussarna, the airport coach company, is also opening a stop in time for the inauguration of the Expo Center.
